I couldn't have said it better Jim!
Thanks John. My ex is an alcoholic and abuses her scripts so I know exactly what happens.

I take my hat off to you for taking the steps needed to insure your health. Congrats brother! The weight will come off.
Amen.

I'm glad you caught yourself falling, Tom. Your life isn't even close to over...live it right.

I've never been a big drinker, will have a drink every now and again...usually I'll go months without drinking anything.

Over a year ago I met someone. He said couple beers a day. That couple beers a day was actually 18-36 a day. I had coors cans everywhere. I would find him at 3 in the morning nursing a coors. (pantywaist beer but still bad) This guy never even acted like he had had one beer. He believed that because he didn't hit or yell it was okay. I learned it was called "functioning alcoholic" I saw myself taking care of someone on dialysis because of their own actions, a mate dying early of other probs because of bad choices or the possibility of having a guy who was in prison. I cut the strings. I still cannot fathom someone could drink that much because 3 beers and my panties would be on the floor, four and they would be on flag pole. I have to watch what I drink.
You have made a choice that is amazing. You did not just add years to your life but you have the opportunity to add life to your years. (hallmark moment) You have taken the step to get healthy physically and with that comes stronger mental health. You have a support system here and I will gladly drink a water with ya and talk any time you want or need. You are a great person and true friend. You have inner strength and it is to be admired. You are not old. You are "wisdomatic" I feel your heart and I think I speak for us when I say we love you and are hear to support you always.

I should scan my license and show you guys my photo its hilarious. I just got off of a dirty dusty 13 hour service call changing some rock truck tires (least I think it was rock trucks) and had to sit and wait around for the issuer to call the head offic and blah blah blah to figure out something on my license, and I wasnt a happy camper! (and it shows!)
That pretty much describes my license picture too.
It took 2 days in a row to get my license renewed. First day was 2 1/2 hours spent sitting in the DMV with 1 freekin employee working the counter. I got within 10 numbers of being called up to the counter that day. Second day was not much better, only 2 poeple working, spent 1 1/2 hours and my number was called with 15 minutes left until they closed.

Very well put.

Congrats on kicking the bottle to the curb Tom.

I used to drink a lot, not so much anymore. A couple here and there, not sure how many it would take to get me drunk anymore
