i have trouble with kids running in front of the truck when im turning at stores, that pt would have looked nice on the hood anybody have more names for my plowing business
nick that box can be done on the ground. the hardest part is the linkage off the pitman arm, and get a pitarm puller you'll need it. reman boxes don't come with a arm.
i also dont have the pacents to do it, so ill most likely save money and have a garage do it,its not as bad as last year it would be somedays completly empty and other days half empty i used power steering stop leak before fall and it stoped it,im not to concerned with it cause ill be driving the car more this summer
nick its not that hard of a job really but if you don't have the tools then your better off
letting someone else do it. you know in a shop would be better. i've done alot of them!
if you going to DIY i was going to walk you thru it. if you want to take it to a shop go for it.
dont have the tools, the pacents,or the weather to do it,the apartment im moving into dont allow you to work on your own vehicle cause of liability or some **** like that,i would like to do it and save some money and do it myself but a shop would save me the headache of dealing with the landlord, thanks for offering to walk me through it jack,my gandpa has a parts truck but i dont think an 85 f150 steering box would work on a 94
nick autozone.com has an interchange part of their manuals as far as gear boxes i'm not exactly sure. i do know 80-86,87-95,96-2000,2001-up. it may work! there wasn't to much difference until 96,that is when they changed everything..
Well, just finished cleaning up this weekends mess.
It was an absolute joy.............NOT. What a mess. I hauled about 40 gallons of "water" out so I had a "clean" tank to install the new pump. I have to go back in today and adjust the floats again, the alarm goes off befor the pump kicks on Should be a little better this time, everything is still "clean".
I noticed a smell of sewage gas last night, just like when the vent stack froze up earlier this year. When I went to check on the lift station, i noticed the light for the alarm was on, "someone" had silenced the alarm. Long story longer, I ended up having to replace the pump. The worst part is I now have a mess to clean up in the crawl space/utility room under the stairs. Turns out the overflow for the water heater is plumbed into the drain that goeas into the lift station, when the pump failed, and the alarm didn't alert me to it , it flooded the area with some nasty water. Should be a fun day cleaning that mess up. My advise for anyone with a lift station, make sure you have an alarm on it and make sure that it isn't on silence mode.
It sure didn't smell like roses I'd say the worst part was dipping the 40 gallons of "water" out of the tank. I had to spend about 1/2 an hour outside after that airing out.
