well, the truck spent the first 5 years in Michigan. I thought they used a lot of salt on the roads around here, the roads were completely white when I went there to pick the truck up in Dec. 06. It's like they don't use sand at all, just pure salt.

Now after the need to plow snow is past I need to replace the slave cylinder, it leaks like a sive. Have to ether drop the transfer case and transmission or pull the engine.
no thank you i dont think the truck would make it any one know how much the power steering box cost its leaking from the bottom
Have you tried to price one from a salvage yard? I installed a remanufactured one on an F250 for someone a few years ago, I seem to remember my cost for it being three hundred something.
ah yes the pitman arm seal. i think those steering gears have a snap ring in the bottom if i remember right. i have done many of them..

not a fishing trip, I was working about 18 hours a day for the last two weeks.
i know what you meant jack, last summer i went through a bottle of power steering fluid a day i tryed to plug it last summer and that didnt even work but that was expected
yes it is annoying but you got to love the ''ford'' whine,thanks ford79 i think ill buy a new box for it instead of rebuilding it,dont have a garage to do it in
