As I've stated in the past, these trucks are 30 + years old and have had multiple owners. So..there's no way to know what might have been changed over that period of time.
Exactly, these trucks seem to mutate over the years.
Ok, Number Dummy I realize you did these as a job and Know a lot about this stuff. I also apologize myself if a came off sounding disrespectful. But I did never say all 250s didn't have the brackets. I might not have worded right, but I meant on my 250 it doesn't have the brackets, in fact if you look at the pic I took of my frame, it doesn't even have the mounting holes in the frame for the brackets, there is one hole, but the pic of the truck with brackets has two bolts in it. Maybe it was never installed, I sure my frame was never swapped, as most of my truck is original. And finally, I want you to know that I do respect you and your knowledge on this stuff.
I just dismantled an all original 1977 f250 2wdr. no bumper brackets
the stock original bumper bolts right up to my 78 (might be 79) bronco frame
maybe some f250s had brackets the one in my possesion did not.
purchased from the original owner, also came with the 1977 transfer papers switching ownership from the ford dealership to the guy I bought it from, and there was no sign it had ever been off before I pulled it off a week ago.
Hey # Dummy, I was thinkin about my last post on this thread today and realized that it was a '79 I parted out- it had rectangular headlights. All the crap I've parted out over the years is blurrining together.
I've checked with three of my local sources and my own collection. The breckets are 67-77 1/2 F250 4X4 only. All three of my 78/79 250s are frame horn mounted not brackets. As are the Bronco and 77 150 4x2.

that makes sense to me, the bracket looks to be a riser to clear the leaf mounts
1977 f250 2wdr image. no place to bolt a bracket on here
I have a couple sets of these as well. Disregard the price on my web site and make me an offer. Things are very tight around here I'll tell you! Email is the best way to contact me.
