My overhead display is dimmed. During the day I can barely read it, it does not dim much more when I turn on the lights. Any thoughts what I should look for?
there's some known problem about this. I'm sorry I cant think of the thread link off the top of my head, but there's a faulty solder somewhere on the back of the display I think that needs to be resoldered. But I believe that fixes it. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I'd just try to do a search for it.
I did make sure the dimmer switch is turned up, that was a easy check. I did find the thread on resoldered, that seems to be the fix for a display that does not work at all. Mine works, just very hard to read, its like a bulb is burnt out in it. I had a 2000 F250 years ago and I could clearly read the overhead display, so I know the one in my 2000 Excursion is not right.
