E4OD Compatibility
If you are *really* tight on money, the C6 can save you some $$ in the short run. But you'll need a longer drive shaft and some linkage modifications for the 4WD, which will cost you some extra.
well its not a huge rush i'd like to just find the E4OD to go in again, and its not really the money either. I'd like to try and save a few bucks getting a used one that i know works, but i may end up getting a rebuilt one.
Look at eBay. Rebuilt ones from around $900 and up. Some even comes with 5 year unlimited mileage warranty. Of course a warranty backed by a small shop may not worth as much as one backed by a car maker, but still.
If you have to pay 2 way shipping from a shop in Timbucktoo, that warranty may not be worth much. If the shop is within driving distance, then it could be OK.
I realize this is an old thread, and not to question/challenge your knowledge and experience, I'm quite confident your opinions are much more valuable, and a better solution or at least a more well thought out solution, than mine on this matter. I did find another option, which is fabricating new drive shaft when switching between 2wd e4od and 4wd e4od, to not only add length to shaft to make up for missing transfer case, but also to avoid changing output shaft in 2wd trans that's being installed where 4wd e4od had been...
