I have the same set up in my 79 super cab and the speed control switch is fifnicky, sometimes it doesn't supply pwr. to the blower fan, have to give it a nudge and it works, I have ben meaninhg to repair it for some time now...we all know how that goes. I get some parts from a guy in Jersey...dash auto air, he is real helpful, but I do believe they are manufactured aftermarket also, nostalgic or vintage air??
what is the fan powered by. Where does the power wire from the ac control switch go to. I had pack rats than dismantled the wiring. Luckily on a 77 I dont have too many wires

Does this mean I can get away with just replacing the hoses and flush everything/vaccum/recharge? (assuming the compressor works. Its definitely not locked up though)
can you see where the power wire coming out of the back the ac control *****? Mine was chewed off and I cant locate what it was getting power from. It would be the red capped female square blade connector that runs along with the 3 blade connector harness that runs to the blower motor.

Dealer Installed Deluxe A/C: The A/C plastic bezel sweeps across the dash, from the ash tray to the end, covering up the original glove box.

A hang-on (under the dash) glove box was furnished with the A/C installation kit.

The two ***** that operate the switches are on the left side of this bezel, which may be wood grained.

There is a Ford blue oval emblem on this bezel at the center right.

The two switches however, are the same for both A/C units.

Numbersdummy. I know this is a very old post so I am hoping it find
s you. I was unable to send you a private message through the forum. You have the best knowledge of these AC systems I have come across. How do you find out who has these old parts. I am in need of parts for my 78. I believe my AC was. Deluxe system. My control is just like the One in the Red dash in this post. This is the only place I have found a picture of a control like mine. Hoping you can help.
