Hello i would like to try and get some help here if i can. I have a 2000 f350 diesel and im geting the O/D light flashing. I have tryed everything from the VSS, OSS and the TSS. I have had it at two shops and will be bring it to one more on monday. One shop told me i need a new trans and i said no way it drives way to good to need a trans. I picked it up from them and was going to do the trans my self to save me some money but it drives to good to think its that. I droped it off some wheres else and they did a lot of tests and said the same thing, it drives to good to need a new trans. Well that shop is now sending it out monday to a trans shop to see what they say. I have done the OSS TSS VSS, alternator, Battery cables corroded have been cleaned. Any help would be great??
Just took it for a drive and all im geting is P0717 and P0715
I just did some looking around and there is a turbine speed sensor on the transmission. It is simular to the VSS on the rear dfferential. Take a look there and see if the wires are ok. Pull it out and clean it. I'll do a little more research for you.
The turbine speed sensor is near the front of the trans, on top. If you replaced the sensor and you still get the codes then the problem is probably a bad wire to the sensor. The PCM doesn't tell you the sensor is bad, it says that it doesn't get a signal and that there is an electrical problem with that circuit. It's the wiring.
