Mass air conversion

I have a 1992 f-150 with a 5.0 v8 engine that i want to convert from speed density to mass air. I have a mass air meter, computer, and complete engine harness off of a 1994 f-150 with a 5.0 v8. If i put all the parts from the 1994 on the 1992 will it work or will the firing order of the 92 engine not match the 94 computer?
Thanks,
kt pulliam

You have 2 choices, rewire the injector portion of the '94 harness for the old firing order or change the camshaft to one with the new firing order. Personally I'd take option #2 because the stock cam is so pathetic, but that may be more work than you planned for. And don't let anyone tell you you don't have to match the injector firing order to the cam, the motor will never run right if you don't change it.

I would not bother with this unless you plan on making the modifications to need Mass Air.

Aren't there supposed to be efficiency / mpg benefits to the mass air conversion as well?
