mass air swap
Hello everyone, I first have to say that this site is just awsome. OK, I have a question about the speed density to mass air swap. I have a 1992 f-150 5.0 the recently received a m5od to zf swap. I was wondering, will the mass air setup from a 1996 f-150 just plug right into my harness. I have found a 1996 that I can get everything off of, computer, harness, mass air meter. So will it just swap right over to my truck or will it be nessecary to move pins around and such. Thanks in advance

A '96 will be a very big hassle, probably bigger than it is worth. '96 is the first year for OBD-II, and your truck is OBD. The computers are very different. The easiest way to swap would be a kit from Ford Motorsports. Best of my knowledge, the pre-'96 mass air trucks were all automatics, but that could be wrong. If you are up to custom wiring, you could do the swap yourself using parts off of ebay, or out of a junkyard (this would require swapping pins and a lot of custom wiring).
