speedometer not reading right

speedometer not reading right
My speedometer will start out ok untill i get to about 15mph then it will "jump" all the way to 85 and stay there until i almost stop. Occasionally it will "jump" back and fourth from like 20 to 85 while im driving but it's random. Any ideas?

If mine were doing that, I'd take the speedometer out and check the cable.
Somehow it doesn't sound like a cable tho. :/ But I'd check it anyway.
Drive down the road and see if the cable spins inside it's Bowden tube nice
and smooth.
I'd spin the speedometer's input with a small screwdriver and see if it acts
funny. Sounds to me like the magnetic clutch assemble is touching inside.
Never had that particular problem so I really don't know the answer. :(
