hey guys i had a question about my tranny i just bought my truck from a guy who had the tranny rebuilt 2 weeks ago (i say the reciepts so he wasnt lieing) but i just noticed today that the od light is blinking and it shifts kinda funny like it hesitates to go into the next gear....any thoughts? im calling the place where it was rebuilt on monday.....also on the injector pump what screw is it that i turn to deliver more fuel and make it smoke more? thanks

the blinking od light is your tach sensor about to crap out.is a 1" nut with 2 wires coming out of it below the vaccum pump.thats where its at on my 94 anyway.as for turning the pump up there are instructions on here how to do it but make sure you get a pyrometer before messing with it.you adjust it on the pass. side of the ip behind the triangle shaped plate you remove 2 bolts and turn the screw.it doesnt take much 2 flats is more than enough.(about 1/8th of a turn)or so is a starting point.good luck.
no the tachometer is all messed up when at idle its at like 0 or 200 then as soon as i hit the pedal it goes to like 3-4 grand but the engine really isnt reved that high
Replace your tack sensor, its on top of your upper gear housing, I believe it is ford only part. Get a egt gauge if you don't have one and please don't make the only reason to turn up the IP to make more smoke
Not enough info to place blame on any one sensor. Don't start spending money on replacement parts until you can narrow down the problem because that can be an exercise in frustration. It could very well be that whatever is the problem now was the reason the transmission was rebuilt before (weather it needed it or not).
