if you don't want to buy new hoses, and want the filter more square on the fender, take the black flexible hose off of the original filter housing (goes from filter box to aluminum pipe at valve cover) turn it around, cut it off to the first rib (the cut off piece will be tapered) , leaving the rib. then carefully cut the blocks from between the first and second rib, this will allow the factory clamp to fit down in the grove. set the filter in place and set the 45 degree pipe over it and the hose and mark it for cutting
I dont have a pic of the stock setup but, I used a 4" piece of pipe and made a 45 degree angle with it. It's not as pretty as the ones shown above, but it works great and cheap.
one question how did you do the crankcase vent mod. I this mine is bad because when i get on it going up hills its white smoke that come out and black. I think i miss something there.
It makes the intake air cooler because you are not dumping the hot crankcase gas into the intake.
I would think that would minimal.... The main thing with CCV is the oil residue that it can promote IC boots to blow off during high boost conditions with a IC.
You need to start small and work your way up when diagnosing. As always, check your filters and replace if necessary. It might be possible that your kitty is clogged up as well.
We need to know more information than its putting out white and black smoke going up a hill. What are the operating temps? Does it do it every time? Any modifications to the engine?
the truck runs run the n and o for temp. and there is no mods to the truck. it doesnt do it all the but sometime i does. and it white smoke only thats is. the reason i think its the crank case breather is because when i see it happen i can really here the turbo spooling up
