Navstar base for 6.0L

Hi guys I'm new on the 6.0 Forum but been here (FTE) for a while

I am looking for info to help a friend

Does anyone know the Navstar engine from which the 6.0L Powerstroke is derived and if so would the IPR sensor fron Navstar work in the Ford version?

I've been digging around on this forum for a thread where someone had a Ford to International cross reference...but can't seem to find it. Going off memory it was current up to 2005, the one on page 10 is a link that we as FTE member over loaded very quickly

good find. This will give more life to the 6.0. As ford races to forget the 6.0 the availability of parts will soon also become an issue. This means that these parts can be had from ford and international. I wonder if this will also cover the 6.4? For a family like mine where we keep cars for 20yrs i wonder for how long 6.0 and 6.4 parts will still be around?

I think i would worry about 6.4L parts being that it will be such a short run engine.

One of the biggest bennies is cost.
Anyone familiar with the 7.3 L PSD (aka T444e) knows its inherent problems with the Cam Position Sensor (CPS). Ford stealership price was $200 give or take a few $ and International sold the same part for $95 give or take a few $.
All Ford did was buy them from Navstar and double the price, sometimes they didn't even change the box they just put a Ford part # sticker on it.

And they wonder why some folks are so bitter toward them? I'll be the first to admit, I'm an OEM guy...I don't like aftermarket parts on any of my rides. I try to keep OEM parts, but Ford just rapes the dog poop out of the PSD crowd. The International dealership here in town isn't exactly the friendest bunch of folks...or at least toward non-fleet trucks, but they'll take your money willingly for parts and not rape ya'. And the parts won't void the warranty of the truck!
