Installed a resitor in my idm to make it 140 volt. Truck runs so much better. My question to other guys that have done this has your fuel milage dropped down? Mine has. For some years i have kept records.Have driven the same routes on c c @ the same speed i have noticed a 2.4 mpg drop. Has anyone else found this too? Would really like to know. Friskejake

Did the mod 5-6 months ago and have not noticed anything. typical drop when switching to winter blend(about 2mpg) but nothing during the summer.

1st of all, Welcome to the site, this is a great site and a great place to learn all about our trucks.
I am interested in doing this mod, but concerned about your mileage loss. When did you do this mod and how many tanks of fuel have you checked mileage on? I am hoping that you just did the mod and naturally in your testing & evaluating were just a little heaver on the go peddle than usual, and that's the reason for a 2 mpg drop.

Pretty sure that winterized fuel is everywhere, not just in the cold climates. So the MPG drop might still be the fuel. You may even see a difference in fuels from one station to another.

I have run about 3 tanks of fuel through mine since the mod and I still get the same mileage per tank.

The winter blend does hurt mpg some.
The higher % of the loss in mpg comes from wasted fuel
getting motor up to temp and running to cold.
