Yes, there is a switch that is sold on e-bay that I used on my 51 and it is very nice. It's easy to wire. The instructions are very good and I have a wiring diagram in Power Point if you decide to go that route. The switches come either chrome or black. The link I'm sending is for the cheapest one (Black at $20). Chrome are usually more.
Here is a link to the switch and the wiring diagram:
I used the after market sw mentioned; modified mounting by welding two tabs to column, that bolts sw to column. I also shortend the shaft of the hazard switch, and added '53 column shifter **** to turn assembly handle. I'll add picture to my gallery in a couple days.
Got to figure out wiring from hazard flasher, using harness from '90 Crown Vic.
Signal Stat made the originals, and still does. NAPA sells them, they're not cheap but mine is 50+ yrs old and works great. Made in USA, I believe.NAPAONLINE®
I agree with Ross, Get the Signal Stat, a used one is fine. Mine came from an ebay auction and has an xtra wire for the single filament parking light to signal light circuit. I think it is a Signal Stat 900? It was only $20.00 with shipping. It is nice and heavy and has the emergency flasher built in.
I got my signal stat from the local napa store. There are several types but I used the heavy duty one meant for heavy trucks. It's extremely rugged and all metal. The wiring directions are easy to follow as well. You may have to buy a flasher unit and the socket to hold it, but it's still easy to use.

I'm re-wiring my '50 project, need help with wiring of turn signals and hazard flashers. I have the stock signal flasher assemblies for rear and front signal lights but unsure on wiring, one is dedicated to the front turns and cornering lights ? the other to rear. Do I bring power to turn signal switch out to the flasher units , then on to the turn signal lights ? Hazard flasher ( 2 pole) should come to the input of after market turn signal switch assembly, then out to ? there is a black (L) and a blue (P) input wires on turn switch; what do these letters mean?
This has been posted many times before, and there are others in old threads. There is no such thing as a "stock" '50 turn signal AFAIK, they just didn't come with them. All were added on.
sorry for the confusion, I meant the stock 1990 donor wiring. If I interpret properly, the "P" pilot is the light for the hazard flasher and "L" load would be to the park/tail lights. I'll parallel the fused power to the L & P wires.
