I Forgot what brand ppl were saying, it was either magnaflow or borela, but some were saying those were the only ones that would give a gain in hp/tq for fords.
What are you looking for a whole kit? or just a muffler?
i wouldnt be surprised if an 08 kit works with a 09 since its pretty much the same under the body.
a muffler, you can get what ever you want since any of them would fit, just need to make sure you get the ride size diameter for you exhaust tubeing
I highly recomend the Roush off-road exhaust it is exactly what you are looking for in sound and style. Currently they do not have a system yet for the '09. Others will tell you what other exhausts are better and so forth. BUT you can go onto Roush's website at roushperformance.com Also you can checkout youtube for sound clips. This system is all stainless steel.
I'm a fan of Borla (on my truck) and it's awesome in just about every way. It's loud when I want it, but quiet when I don't want it to be loud. It's also stainless. I believe Roush outsources their cat-backs to Borla (could be wrong).
I think it sounds great. Search "Borla Tundra" if you want another representation of sound. Plenty of sound clips for the current F150.
Also, another thing to consider is that they added another like 6" to the SCrew F150s so the catback systems won't necessarily fit b/c of cab sizes, even if all the hangers could fit in the same places.
If you wait a little while, you should see Borla and Magnaflow come to the market pretty soon with exhaust. I'm sure Roush will be right there as well. Oh, and MBRP I think was big on the F150s. Sound very good IMO. I enjoy all of them with Magnaflow coming in last.
Something to consider.... The 09 muffler is already a straight flow through design so if you decide to put an after market exhaust on you wont see any type of performance gain. The only change will be in the sound (which by the way the 09 sounds pretty good already)
I was just getting ready to say that...I was really impressed how the truck sounded this year bone stock. You could probably save some weight/room with an aftermarket muffler, but as already mentioned, extremely little to no performance gain from just a mufler...just sound.
I'm a Flowmaster fan, so what I've always done with my trucks is get the muffler I like..usually a 3" singel inlet with two 2 1/2" dual outlets and go to a good muffler guy and get custom pipes ran where I want them. I'm not a fan of complete bolt on kits, but that's just me.
