Went to a family gathering the other day and one of my gear head cousins pulls me aside and says, "You wanna buy some tires?" He picked these up for his '79 F250, but very quickly figured out tha it would take a lot of mork to make them fit. 325/85 16's quite aggresive tread on them. They'll fit on the back of my truck now and with the workl I was going to do anyway on the front, they'll fit there too. New, they'd be 37.8" tall. now, a bit less.... Still plenty of tread left. $300 for all 4. It would have been really hard to say no.
That's right sherm. The tallest Corolla on the planet!!!
Sorry less, I don't have them on yet. As Sheldon said, I've gotta get some rims. I've got a set of 16.5 X 10's , but I need 16 X 10's for these. Even 16 X 9 would work,
I ran 36's last summer. There was some difference in all the above. Acceleration was a bit slower, mileage was up some, and noise, Yup, lots of noise. The last ones were bias ply, so towing was kinda interesting. These are Radials, so that should be better. I still had no trouble towing both my trailer and sailboat. With the 36's my rpm's were down in the 1800 range at 60, so these should bring it down to 1700ish??? That's actually what I'm going for.
Anybody have some rims for me????
Yeah, I've got plenty of stck width rims. Only 2 wide ones, but they're 16.5's I'll keep looking. I got some 33/12.50 16.5's a couple years back. They were on stock rims. Looked kinda scary. I was very nervous with them until I got the 10" wide rims.
