I'm not sure how ur lookn at it.I'm just having a discussion with u or any other member who wants to chime in,You can look at it ur way and me my way.As for literature I've enclsoed 2 scans of a 1979 Ford dealership broshure which includeds the -options- available for 79 (I have-em going back to 73) and NO where is a gun case, tonneau cover, maplight or magic ashtray available. So just my 2 cents.I'd call them after market add on accesories whether a dealer provided them or JC whitney.

X36 - there is a separate Ford accessory option brochure. I will scan it in a few.

Ford Truck Accessory Brochure. Judging on the vehicles, I think this was published in '78 or so.

And what do we have here? A gun safe! AND! A in-cab storage safe. Ford did not only offer a gun safe, Ford offered two different in-cab storage systems!

The rarest option of all, I think, is this: Spare tire lock [T-4]. Uses square key.

You could buy all the pieces separately, too.

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has these kits.

Aftermarket is a word I would use on accessories and options not avaliable or made by FORD.

I think X36 is getting Dealer installed accessories and options confused with Factory installed accessories and options.

Also quite a few Factory installed options were avaliable as dealer installed as well. Sliding rear window is one.

Also the sales brochure does not list every single factory option avaliable, you can't limit the factory options to what it said in the sales brochure. Limited slip is a factory option, but I don't see it listed etc....

x2

Special ordered: (reading it off the build sheet, easier that way;)...

"Traction Loc" type: "H4"
"West Chrm. Swing Lock Mirrors" type: "B"
"Amp/Oil Gauge"
"Front Bumper" type: "C" (chrome)
"Tool Storage Box"
"Spare Tire/Wheel"
"Spare Carrier"
"Opt. Hyd. Booster" brakes

Also ordered:
factory A/C package included tinted glass and bigger radiator.
heavy duty shocks but only shows: "Shocks" type: "O"
mid ship fuel tank with sending unit and switch

I ordered a factory step rear bumper but the dangged dealer didn't! :/
Had to argue with them to get them to put the factory step rear bumper
on and take their icky looking advertisement bumper off.

Ordered power steering because of a couple company trucks (Chevy)
the one that didn't have PS was -real- bad about taking the wheel from
you if you hit a rock and hop over it so quick you couldn't do anything
about it if you touched the road-grader's wind-row.

Its wide 16.5's was the reason for all that trouble, I figured out since.

The other had 7.50-16's with PS and didn't know at the time it was mostly
the tires that made it handle so extra good. ;)

So I wish I hadn't ordered power steering.
The manual steering gear would've had bearings in it!
For cryin out loud who would've guessed? Huh? :(

A 390 would have been nice too. ;)

390 or a 300, IMO

ps- so, what was the question again?
