Did a search before posting this, the slow wipe has packed up, leaving me with nothing and fast wipe. I just wanted to double check that this is what I need to get intermittent wipers on my '83......
It looks like the black box is partially surrounded by protective foam rubber, that's cool, I guess.
That's what you do when you finally decide you are never going to get your hand back up inside the dash to attach that bracket *again*.... It says "do not drop" on the housing, so I'm assuming the board inside is sensitive to vibration and impacts.
I just looked again at that auction, that guy wants $45 for the switch + delay circuit!!! Plus
shipping!!!! Sheesh! He doesn't even say if the thing works, but I guess he's offering
some sort of warranty on the thing. I've got 2 or 3 spares in my garage, maybe I could be
like Stosh and sell 'em. Nah, I think I couldn't get one of 'em to work, not sure which one....
I just did this to my truck, and I wouldnt buy it off ebay. Go to your local junkyard and find one from any 80-86 f series or bronco. To figure out if its a delay switch or not, it should click twice when turned clockwise, and it should click once counterclockwise and rotate past the click some. It took me about 10 mins to do, just make sure to take the switch, the black box (its formally called the governor box) and make sure to unscrew the ground wire and reattach it on your truck. If its the same as mine, its a 7mm screw. Its plug and play, no wire splicing needed. I paid 25 bucks for mine.

I sometimes have problems with fast wipe, but jiggle the connector near the motor and it works again. Might pay to confirm that your problem would be fixed by adding the intermittent circuitry.

I thought the price a little high, and somewhat of a risky purchase given that it's s/h but it's not like these are falling out of the sky over here lol....sure you don't fancy testing them and maybe selling one at a jolly good price?

I have a slight problem with that, there aren't very many (any) in the breakers over here, in fact there are that many more on the road!

I hear what you are saying, the slow speed has been playing up a while before stopping entirely though. The intermittent is just a retro fit upgrade of sorts while I'm remedying (is that a real word?!) the problem.
Found and added to the watch list. How much would postage be to the UK? (postal code BS16 1UE if needed).
Would be totally clueless as to even guestimating the postage to ya across the pond. However, what I will do though is get you an exact quote and then will only charge the exact postage.
If interested, PM me your address and continue the discussion there. I'm in Chicago now and won't be able to get a postage quote until mid morning on Monday.
