Delay Wiper option add on

My truck did not come with the Delay Wipers, however as I understand it's a easy one to add. All I need is the switch and the module, if I'm correct???

If so, then my second question is: Where is the module and what does it look like? I've read on here before that it's sometimes ziptied to a wire bundle and Uncle Stosh had said that he's scraped a few knuckles removing them, therefore I would assume it's up and under the dash.

Heading to my favorite yard tomorrow (Thursday)

If you cant find the module and switch let me know cause I have a set. The module is like a 3"X3" black box with two short wire harness. It should be very close to the wiper switch.

Not the best pic, but there are two of them right in the middle.

Some are just tie wrapped to the harness and some have a single hex head bolt that holds it underneath the dash right above the E Brake release.

It's real tight under there and getting the wiper switch out is where you scrape up your knuckles.

Take your old switch out, put the new one in and plug it in. It's that easy.

Keep in mind that some trucks will have an infered mileage sensor under the same part of the dash. Its also a small black box. The wiper module will have two semi-circular connectors. Make sure the box you grab has those.

Uncle Stosh: You have two clocks also near the center of your picture. I've gotten two and neither of them were working properly. One would not accept the button depress to change the date/minutes, and the other simply didn't light up at all. Is that common for them to be non-functional?

Thanx to all for their help!!

Will update late tomorrow afternoon/early evening with what I came up with.

Yep, it's a crap shoot with those clocks. They are notorious for NOT working.

I grab as many as I can and hope for the best. I cut a piece of the wiring harness out of another truck and use it along with a 12V battery to test them.

Here is another "Mo betta" pic of the wiper module and switch.

While you are there, see if you can find one of these too. They came mainly in Broncos, but F Series have them too.

A retractable under hood utility light. Grab the short harness that goes along with it and the ground strap for the hood right near the light. All trucks are already pre-wired for it. There is an empty plug right underneath the brake booster where it plugs in. Brown plug with green wire.

Very nice to have.

Hmm,I've always wondered what those extra plugs did.I have two open on my truck, what's the other one for?

I've looked for that underhood light before as I am familar with those. However, that being said...no luck on 'em. Will keep looking. The place that I'm going to is HUGE and every Thursday they bring out new inventory and place them in the individual rows on Fridays. So tomorrow with any luck there should be an abundant supply of "fresh meat" that hasn't been picked over yet.

Those lights aren't Ford-specific, I've seen the exact same thing on Chrysler
vehicles.

Sure. And a Ford oval logo on it, too. I know that, never said it didn't.

And the ones I've seen on Chrysler (Jeep) vehicles have different part
numbers and different logos. But, they are the exact same things; I got one
for my brother's Bronco. My point being, if you're gonna look through
junkyards for these things, don't restrict yourself to only Ford trucks, they're
on other vehicles, too.
