Sorry, that must've completely come across wrong and didn't mean to accuse you of anything. I guess trying to be funny on a couple hours of sleep doesn't work right.
I just noticed the information was wrong and didn't want anyone getting confused or misinformed.

Carb: 120hp @ 3000RPMs
EFI: 150hp @ 3200RPMs
Again, didn't mean for it to come across rude.
I understand! I know you're not a jerk. Because we're communicating via Type online it can sometimes be hard to determine a person's attitude. But no, I wouldnt exagerate that much to prove a point. If my numbers were off, it was an honest mistake.
Reading through this, I think it's rather uninformed that the OP said chips weren't available for the 300 EFI 6ers. If they make a performance chip for my 2.9, almost guaranteed they have 'em for the inline engines. And the only way I'd go back to a 'carb' set up per se is switching over to TBI / CFI and setting it up with a fully programmable computer - not that I'd need to do that or spend that money. You could probably put less money into working with what it came off the factory line with and still get decent performance and economy.
