rebuilt carb, runs great!

I had real bad hesitation issues. I checked timing, plugs, wires, adjusted my carb. Nothing seemed to work.

Got a free 69 Autolite carb from a LTD 390. Rebuilt that carb, put it on, fine tuned it for two days- WOW!

Truck runs like a million bucks! No more hesitation! She rips and roars now! I've got a noticeable difference in power. The old carb was realllly tired and beat.

if you ever need a carb rebuild, spend the $14 from Advance Auto for a kit (for a. Motorcraft or Autolite carb). Pay attntion to the directions, its really easy! If I can rebuild a carb, ANYONE can!

Thats great Kirk, I am glad you got that issue behind you. I wasn't so lucky today. I tore mine apart, and found the point of the fuel/air mixture screw was snapped off inside the carb. I couldn't figure when I turned the screw it didn't do a thing. ( was developing an ever increasing fuel rich problem)

I have a friend who is in the surplus business, and he had brand new Carter 1bbl in the box. There were slight differences, but it runs real nice and smooth, and now I have an electric choke.

Same thing happened to me frank. Recheck your float. Don't have to take the whole carb off. Just the top cover.
