Backspacing/Offset Question
What backspacing/offset would be needed to run a 16X8 rim with 305s that will not rub the leafspring at full lock?
DCSpecial, I know your out there, you probably know what I'm planning.

Im not 100% and DC will confirm but I don't think you could rub the leaf pack with 305's on 16x8's. I'm running 17x9 and 315's and have no problem, but did kiss the leaf pack when I had my 35x12.5-17's on. Just my .02 till DC comes by...

For clarification...you're talking about removing the DRW spacer and using a SRW wheel?
If so, 4.5" of back space would be what you want on a 99-04 truck.

Yeah, I want to put 8 inch rims in the front. What offset will I need? 0 or +2mm?

On a 8" wide wheel 4.5" of Back Space is 0mm
+2mm would be ~4.58" of Back Space.
2mm isn't really going to make a difference (25.4mm per 1")

Better tire wear, better handling maybe?
A 305 on a 6" wide wheel isn't the best combo for the above.

I don''t think he has 305s right now. I don't think he needs them either.

Some of his previous posts mention running a 2" spacer between his rear duals due to the 305s.
Unless he has a smaller tire up front.
