ok i checked my MPG today and was kinda surprised my truck has a 3'' dp just dumped behind the cab, 6637 intake, stage II's, dp tuner chip and it's also a 5spd with 3.55 gears and i run a 305/70/r16. i went to the same pump i went to last time i got diesel and i had drove 160 miles and it took 8 gallons to fill up the truck so i got 20 mpg. i was surprised with the stage II's i don't drive it that hard but it smokes a lot when i go up hills or acclerate without downshifting at less than 1500 rpms.
I had been averaging 22 mpg in my 97 F250 2wd till my fuel pump started leaking, now with the leak i'm getting about 20 mpg. I have a 3in DP, gutted cat, no muffler, and 4in exhaust, otherwise completely stock. It's a 5 speed with 3.55s and 344,000 miles
dang, i'm jealous! my fuel leak seems to have pulled me down to around 13-14 mpg. i've never had her do better than 16-17 though...my goal is to get her in the 20s, w/o 6500 lbs of horses and trailer anyways. right now most stuff is *still* stock, but i'm trying not to slack off on simple stuff like oil/air/fuel filter changes...maybe there is more i should be doin??
it might be a while before i try to fill both tanks work isn't gonna like if i turn in a $100 fuel ticket i do go at getting $30 dollars every few weeks
ARK, I have the same truck as you for the most part. The last time I checked mine (pre-H2e) I went from 18.6 to 17.1 after I installed the stage II's. That is Interstate driving from 65-70 mph. I also have 4.10 gears so your 20 sounds right on the money.
Now go and drive it hard and see what mileage you get. I am afraid to. LOL
