Got a sawsall, a smoke wrench or a cut-off wheel? Getting the old pipe off is the hardest part. It'll take all freaking day if you try to do it with a hack-saw.
yes, i know exactly what to do to get the downpipe in with one person. cut the old system off, make sure to make a cut in front of the tranny crossmember too. be careful not to bend or crack the stock downpipe-to-turbo clamp, as you will need to get a new one if you mess it up. it should be pretty stuck on to the pipes, so a narrow flat screwdriver inserted between the clamp and the pipe (youll see) will pop it loose. there is three sections, so work the screwdriver around. then take a bungee strap, find two holes in the frame rails to hook them into. once you have the downpipe near where it should be, the bungee will support the pipe from falling, so you can get up top and help it in position. get it all hung before you go tightening stuff. and start at the turbo and tighten back to the tip.
and remember to re-torque all the clamps when you have about 3 warm/cool cycles under your belt.
you should also do the CCV mod when you put in your intake. good luck. ill be here if you have problems, PM me.
