Hubby's been trying off and on all week when he has a minute. He doesn't have a lot of patience so I asked him to try and if it doesn't work, then do something else. He's been spraying penetrating oil every couple of days and woking a bit on them. The welder comes home today since the tool he borrowed from one of the guys he works with didn't work either.
The front bumper was the other thing he was working on this week. It took him about 6 hours all together to get it off. Each bolt was a different size and length (leftovers the previous restorer must have had) and of course, well rusted.
Oh yeah there was a stop at Canadian Tire last night for a new tool . Apparently we needed a tap and dye set for something or maybe just in case.
I bought a set from Princess Auto awhile back, got a smoking deal on it too, I think it was a few bucks more then the Canadian tire one, thin it was 49 bucks.
Ya but is the Prince Auto one heat treated and polished to reduce friction during useage..........
I like thae fact that the CT set goes over the 1/2 '' size where most stop.
Canadian Tire has an awesome sale on their 76 piece tap and dye set, a $129 set for only $44.99, 65% off. I used mine again yesterday
Yeah thats the one Hubby got.
The bolts are still stuck. Hubby tried several times yesterday afternoon. Tried different sized nuts as well so he could get lots of weld in there to see if it would hold but the weld just keeps letting go. Anyone got any other ideas?
