After Christmas usually most credit cards are maxied out.......
I never max out my cards. I'm a good girl. If I can't afford to pay for it when the bill comes due, I don't buy it. I just use the card for the air miles.
We just ordered new headlight chrome rings and park light assemblies for the ol Merc. Found too much rust on the old ones when we were taking apart the front end to get the grille out for chroming. So far the grille itself looks okay! And hubby ordered the headers on Friday so hopefully they will work!
I can't remember what kind he ended up ordering but I guess I'll find out on Thursday when I go in to pick them up since I have the credit card. He said he found them at the Mustang Shop in Calgary but he ordered them through Bumper to Bumper here in town. They would end up being the same price either way.
Gee I hope I didn't hurt Ryans feeling with my earlier post. I'd feel awful if I did. I haven't hear much of him since I said if he couldn't say anything nice about my 302 then he shouldn't say anything at all!
Hopefully this weekend. Hubby might start Friday night while I'm at work if the weather co operates. If it snows then he won't be home.
The grille and headlights are all off now. Dale said the grill is in pretty good shape which is a good thing. Now to find a good place to send it to get chromed. White just doesn't cut it. I like shiny things remember! When the time comes, I want to paint the truck a darker color. I'm just having a really hard time deciding on what color to make it. But thats a LONG way off so there's no rush.
Red, red or maybe red..
Did I mention red?
Seriously I`m thinking of staying with a candy apple red on my 53 M100, a match my for 67 Mustang but I`m also along ways away too.
Okay now I have another problem. I'm not a fan of the gull wings and I need to know how to properly fill the holes in the grille. That and the fact that one broke while Dale was trying to remove it. I have looked at pics without them and I just think it looks better in chrome without the wings. Any suggestions?
Thanks Morris. Someone else had told me that too. I know it will cost extra but like my signature says might as well spend it, you can't take it with you! I'm the one earning it, so I'll spend it any darn way I like! Besides, we don't have a welder. Hubby is just starting to do welding at work, so he isn't all the great at it yet.
I know double post but I just read Sheldon's comment. I know they always look good in red but SSSSSOOOOOO many of them are red. I want mine to be different than everyone elses. I do love the color of Morris' Model T. Its just the right shade and one of the colors I'm thinking of. But if I paint it that color then Morris and I will have to get pictures of the two of them together. Saskatoon is a long drive with the original suspension in the Merc.
Red always looks so damn good on those older trucks, they really stand out then! As much as a blue fan I ain't, they do look good in blue too.
If I ever get that far I`ll re paint the 56 M100 medium blue metallic like it was when I bought, it did look smokin`!
I have a mig but for something like a grill I wouldn`t attempt it without alot of practice first and probably not even then. Every little blemish shows up big when the grill is re chromed.
Come to think of it I have a spare 55 grill with the gull wings....
