You know where the GPR is, yes? BE CAREFUL, but you can jump the 2 big terminals for about 20sec with a big screwdriver (or jumper cables).

To test the GPR, KOEO (Key On Engine Off) and use a voltmeter to see if you are getting 12v + to the GPR's big terminal that is closer to the fuel bowl (center of engine). If you don't get any voltage, the GPR is toast.

If the GPR is toast, plug her in and read this:

Welcome to guzzle's Stancor GPR replacement Mod Web Page

Go straight to Stancor, do not pass GO, do not collect $200....

If you have an engine block heater, and after being plugged in for 2hrs+ she fires up, that also points to your GPR being history.

I bet it was gelled fuel.

It tooks a massive torpedo heater blasting under my truck for a few hours with cardboard around the sides to keep the heat in before it would finally start. And by the sounds of it, the way you describe the starting, it sounds jsut like mine when it gelled.

Glad you got it back up though!

I would say it was your batteries, check them seperately for voltage output. Might as well check the glow plug relay while your there also.

If your batts are four years old like you mentioned, you might be approaching the end of their useful life span. Some get more, some less, but four year old batts, plus the weather you guys have been getting may be the combo that has caused you this pain. .02

Batteries would be my guess as well. The cold weather will knock marginal ones down to the point of needing to be replaced.
