need help plz

I have a 1987 ford f150 custom with a 4.9 motor in it only has 75000 miles on it. I was driving it down the road the other day and it quit running like some one just turned the key off . My friend do;s mechanic work he said the ignition control module went out and I replaced it , still not getting any fire and fuel pumps are not kicking on. I did get under the truck and found I had a gas leak right on top of the plug that plugs in to the fuel pump in the tank all the plastic had been eatin off the pug. I fixed the leak but still not getting any fire I am open to any help

hey fuel pumps not on and no fire tells me that you need to check your fusible links tight off the starter solenoid...
there is at least 3 of them about 5" from it.
they look like tootsie rolls and are orange.
visually inspect and gently pull.
they supply power to the whole truck.
they can be replaced with an inline fuse holder.
it says the size on it.

good hunting

No spark and no fuel?
Check the ground wire for the PCM before you try anything else.

Check all your power and grounds first, check for power at the coil and the injector with key on. The module is the most common part to go but I have done plenty of pickups in the distributor. It's the second most common problem. If the ECM doesn't see a crank signal it wont fire the coil or the injectors, make sure your check engine light is on when you turn the key on, if it is then you have power and ground to the ECM.

Pulling the Spark Out connector (on an older gray PS EEC-IV) will isolate an ignition problem to the distributor -or- the PCM.
If you have spark with the jumper removed, it is a computer problem.
