Hey, I got a used ecu for my 99 f150 to replace mine. the problem is the truck will turn over but wont start. Im assuming this is because of the pats system. what do i have to do to get it to work? is it as simple as haveing the key reprogramed? thanks
The truck will run. The ecu out of my 97 parts truck works in it but most of the gauges dont work and the fuel milage isnt the greatest.
I ordered a sniper programmer today. It has a feature to dissable the PATS system and I will also be able to calibrate the speedo for my tires and gear ratio plus hopefully a little extra performance. If this dosnt work I'll be taking it to the dealer but I guess I will have to wait and see. Thanks for all of the replys.
Nope-dealer only. The cluster, PCM and keys are all "married". It's not as simple as making just the key match.

JL,
A lot of locksmiths do have an NGS and actually can do it.
After the dealers started charging $120 plus keys here to do it I started offering to do it with my NGS for $50 plus any keys. Worst part is waiting through the security time out.
