There were two early 5 bolt 289's. One was a HiPo, one wasn't.
My guess is, this wasn't.
If it was a HiPo...the bids would be in the 1000's, not the 100's.

Narrow pattern top loader--probably worth more than the engine.
Didn't hi-po's have different, swoopier exhaust manifolds? And he says 2v intake comes with it.
Nice package for the right buyer--unless it's got .080 deep score marks in the cylinders....

But I didn't mention them, because if this 289 doesn't have solid lifters, it's not a HiPo.
The HiPo manifolds will fit the non-HiPo engine.

There were 2 non HiPo 289 intake manifolds.
VIN engine code C = 289 2V / VIN code A = 289 4V.
btw: VIN engine code K = 289 271 HP HiPo.
But I didn't mention them, because if this 289 doesn't have solid lifters, it's not a HiPo.
