You do know that that black smoke is unburned fuel? Just like dollars flying out of Your tailpipe? And it's like a time bomb, without a Pyro.

Another thing. Your black smoke show is just accelerating the possibility of MORE EPA restrictions on these older trucks. If You run around doing smoke shows, it gives the public a very bad impression of diesel pickups. When it comes time for them to vote on things, they remember the day they saw an old Ford truck spewing that obnoxious black cloud.

I, for one, am not looking forward to putting DPF's on My trucks. Especially if it because of Peeps who think they look cool. When, in reality they are making all of these older rigs look bad.

I put a can of it in my rear tank about 3-4 days ago and my truck is definitely idling better.
I haven't noticed any difference with ATF or Diesel Kleen, even filling my filter with it.
I definitely did with Seafoam.

I put some in my Cherokee and it's idling smoother too, I might buy stock in the stuff.

I'd never heard of it until that post, bought two cans at AutoZone.

Yupp, I love the stuff. I've put it in everything from a 1980 carbed 300, to a 85 pos Toyota, to my IDI. On those gassers it makes a HUGE difference if you pull the brake booster vacuum tube and slowly poor the bottle down it. It'll make whatever your doing it to smoke like a banche, but when you finish off the bottle, and let it idle another few minutes, it will idle 10 times better with a clean system.

Might have to try that.

I'm on the Cummins Forum and I shake my head when they getting excited about rolling black coal from their exhaust. And then the same guys complaining in another thread about the EPA and the extra stuff that has been added to control pollution. You would think they would put 2 and 2 together.

I agree with FonFiddy, and RCrawler about the smoke thing. I'm completely the opposite from the diesel pop culture. I take pride in producing as much power as possible without smoke or excessive fuel consumption. It bugged me something fierce when I had the timing a little off and didn't realize it resulting in steady mild smoke above 5 psi of boost.

Oh, and how cute, the price of fuel is going up again in my town. The popped the price up by a good 6% last night. All the more reason to have the engine actually be able to digest all the fuel being fed to it.
