i actually have a remote control exterior outlet also. i live in a second floor apt, "so"
when i wake up at 5am i hit the remote outlet, why waste electricity all nite>then
when i go to leave at 7:30am i hit the remote start>then
i go down stairs-unplug the block heater and drive away.........nice&warm!!!!!!

Yep. I only run mine 60-90 mins, but that's when it's down around 20-30. I'd run it 90 mins to 2 hours if it was below 0. I ran mine 3 hours once -- the hood was almost hot.

14 degrees and only plugged it in for about 45 minutes and worked the same as when it is plugged in all night or just a couple hours. No romps which I usually get when not plugged in. I always leave mine plugged in when I remote start if it was plugged in, other wise if I go out to unplug it why have a remote start, I'll just start while I'm out there.

I usually start mine before I unplug it anyway. I only plug it in if it is going to be lower than 20 or so, but I leave it in all night.

it does, the truck turns right over.
the cab heat still takes a few to get toasty though.

Hmm, well that's good to know. Leaving it plugged in for a while like i was, was really making the electric bill go through the roof.

Get a 20 amp timer. Works good if you need it the same time everyday.
