i have an overflow reservoir somewhere in the shop . when i get a chance to look for it i will. the part number is molded in the plastic tank i assume? when i find it, i will post any part # i find on it. if its the one thats factory for our trucks, i will post a pic too.
There is no factory installed reservoir, unless the truck is a 1971/74 with a 240 engine, then it takes D1TZ8A080A.
The only other one is the Ford accessory dealer installed (or parts counter purchased) reservoir (DOAZ8522A).
thats why i grabbed the reservoir i have. mine right now is a pennzoil 10w30 bottle.lol so one day im going to put the other one in the truck. i just don't remember what year truck i got it from. i do know its a ford type truck, possibly a newer year 1980 plus.

Whatever number you find, post it and I'll tell you what it's from.
Before there were mandatory recalls, Ford sent out a campaign letter
to dealers advising them of a particular defect.
It was then up to the dealers to notify the customers of the defect.
I got a recall letter from Ford about my EGR. (Jan '75 F150 360FE)
Ooops too late. ;) ...it was already out of service by then. LOL :)
And it looked like hell inside too, just like they were sorta-talkin'bout
in the letter.
I put a universal coolant tank from Autozone in my truck. It would be cool to find an original tank like that though. I will have to look next time in junkyard to see if I can find any.

Still got the letter and never took it in.

The exploding Pinto fuel tank FIASCO, and the exploding GM pickup truck side mounted fuel tank FIASCO, caused the NHTSB to begin mandatory recalls.
This was circa 1974/75.
The GMC/Chevy fuel tanks were mounted outside the left frame rail directly behind the bed's sheet metal with nary a deflector shield in sight.
When T-boned, the tank exploded. What idiot at GM thought that idea up of mounting those tanks like that?
Ford mounted the truck fuel tanks inside the left frame rail.
i found the one i have in the shop. it does not have a part # on it. it only has a "hot " and "cold " on either side with level marks, and the FORD oval logo in the middle. that seems strange it does not have a part #. its almost cube shaped with bevel like corners. its about 7 " square, the filler neck is narrower than the very top.it doesn't have a lid.it has a rubber hose coming from the bottom. definitely a ford part but don't know what is the origin.
I think Im running an old antifreeze jug on mine. Not sure why, I go through enough stuff I wouldn't ever pour it in my radiator. It fits perfectly though

As,
__far as I know if the "oval" is on it, the part-no. should be on it too.
It's just that the part-no. is just difficult to find at times.
Clean the can real good, & look around the front of it. This is where I'd start.
Don't pass up anything that you would normally pass over, sometimes the no.'s are faded or not very prominent.
So look hard & feel with your fingers too.

Good-luck.
The numbers were moulded into the plastic as original and so...will be raised slightly.
If you can't find any, this is prolly the Ford dealer accessory reservoir, which matches the "cubed" description mentioned in post #18.
The dealer unit was a "fits-all" reservoir, meaning a Pinto, or an F800 might have one.
