Stock puke/coolant can?
__I got something from the bone-yard is what seems to be a stock overflow/coolant tank.
When I saw this next to the radiator in a '74 I thought to myself:
What the heck?, Is this a stock overflow tank?

After I finnished cruising the yard for what I wanted, I came back & pulled the tank.
Then brought it home to find out if anybody else has seen or have one of these.
Say N.D. this is for you-
part no# seems to be:
D1TA-8C45-AB
This is the best I can make out on this thing.
I far as I know' there is no such thing as a 'I' in ford 'ID' code,
So this is why I think the "whatever" behind the 'D' is a 1.
As for everyone else, here is some pictures of my find.

Enjoy.
__is what I thought too.
Only NumberDummy can answer this one for us.
It would be nice to know that these trucks had an option like this.
& that I found one.
But if it turns out that this came from another vehicle that was in the ford family; this will still be usefull to know.
Becuase it fits these trucks so well. & I be willing to try locate another one.
Mine doesn't over flow. :)
But then.
Mine's never filled more than half way between the top of the ribs and
the filler neck neither. ;)
YMMV
Cool find tho and will be interesting what Bill's got to say about it. :)

Alvin in AZ nailed it.
D1TZ8A080A = the reservoir used in some 6 bangers was a Ford "campaign fix" for overheating engines.
What is this "Champaign Fix" ?
I understand that it is a type of band-aid fix,
But I would enjoy a little more depth on this term.

It was then up to the dealers to notify the customers of the defect.
Here's one example of a campaign letter.
The 1968/69 and some 1970 car/truck ignition switches (C8AZ11572A) SHORTED OUT AND CAUGHT FIRE!
(ALL 1968/69 F100/750's & Econolines, 1970 F100/750's and Econolines before serial number G90,001).
Ford replaced all these switches for free whether the vehicle was still under warranty or not.
But remember...it was up to the dealers to notify the customers, and if they didn't do that, this faulty switch may still be in these vehicles today.
The fix: D1AZ11572C .. Replacement Ignition Switch (Motorcraft SW1054) This new switch comes with a pigtailed wire plug.
This switch is still available from Ford.
How does one know if the switch was replaced?
If the plug's wires are not spliced into the main dash loom, it's the ORIGINAL switch!
btw: I have posted this info inre to this faulty switch several times in the 1967/72 forum.
