Grill backer to protect intercooler.
I bought regular plastic bug screen for a screen door or window. Its flexible, strong and inexpensive for a big piece that will protect everything. I am sure Home Depot or other such hardware will have what you need. I got mine at a local hardware.
On the issue of towing, I have towed 3 seasons, probably a total of 25,000 km at 42 degrees C or 105 F in hills, 9500 lb trailer, truck loaded with 1 months firewood, diesel cans, tool box ect. Total weight was just shy 20k. I have only rarely had my Pyro go over 1250 F, never a problem with engine or tranny temp, but I am used to the loud fan coming on when pullin long hills. I dont think it slows airflow at all. I ussually tow at 65 mph on these hills and only slow down when others are in the way. Earlier in the thread there was a guy attaching to the back of the grill which is a good idea to hold back rocks. I did mine by just reaching it up there and zip tying in place so it would not fall down or get pushed back into the cooler or let a rock push back and damage the fins.
Nice horse trailer cowboy. I am sure pulling it will make her work but this screen keeping all your cooler fins straight will probably be best in the long run. I have lots around here that are so flattened out they cant cool at all. Best to protect it so it can do its best.
