Yea I would never let a friend buy shift on the fly power adder for a 6.0l. Do your best to talk him out of it.

I like the bully dog that I have. Had no problems with it. I plane to switch to the sct though. I defently would stay away form the banks. I have seen that one mess with alot of trucks. but the shift on the fly deal really isnt all that cool once u get use to it. I rarely use mine. I would try to talk him into an sct.

Go With the SCT,

I had the Banks and never used it cause it would make the tranny shift like poop. I sold it an went with the SCT, safe, reliable power, and never looked back. Just make sure and add some guages with it.

What kind of programmer do most of you use and are there any good ones that install and uninstall easy that a dealer wont know you had on there so they will still cover warrenty work?

The SCT isnt that hard to remove and install it only takes about 2-3 minutes to do it. You can then disconect your batteries and turn the headlights on for about an hour or so. The issue will show up if you are running high HP tunes and you do some internal engine damage and they tear into it. They can tell you had a tuner on at that point from the spray pattern left on the tops of the pistons. I am sure if they really wanted to they could dig deep enough electronically to see if you have a tuner on it.

I am one of the lucky ones that has a mod friendly dealer. I am also out of the 3-36k warranty but still fall under the 5-100k waranty. For whatever that doesnt cover I have a 48/48k warranty throug Ford ESP.

The only thing my dealer asks is that I remove the tune prior to service.

The bottom line is if you play you gotta pay. I agree with that and I am not about sticking it to the man. However I dont beat my truck, run it harder than I should and when I do play around I keep a real close eye on the pyro and boost guages.

FYI, when you disconnect your batteries you dont have to turn the lights on for an hour, just touch the two cables together and it will drain all the capacitors immed. erasing the memory.

Do you need to simultaneously touch the cables together for both batteries for this to work?
