which glasspack is the loudest?????? i am lookin at the slip fit purple hornies that are 18 inches long will these be loud?????? i am getting true duals. also which muffler will give a crackle or popping noise when i let off of the gas???????????
Yes, they'll be loud. As a general rule, the shorter they are, the less they muffle the exhaust. I have true dual 2" pipes with 12" glasspacks on my f-150 and it is really loud--I'm talking my girlfriend can hear me a little over a mile away when I get on it hard...
The 2" pipes make it "pop" (actually it sounds like something's backfiring) when I let off the gas to shift or when I let the truck coast.

If you want crackly poppy when you let of the gas, get "Cherry Bombs". i have duel cherry bombs on my 5.0L 94 f-150 and its too crackly for my liking, but i also have a 5-speed which makes it worse..hehe.
I had a muffler shop install dual exhaust w/ 16" glasspacks 45`d out behind the back tires. 2 1/4 " pipe. I think they are Top Gun mufflers. Don`t have a clue who makes them, but they sound tough. Has a deep throaty sound when you ease out of it and when you get on it they rack out pretty good too. It`ll prolly get louder beins they haven`t burned out yet. They pop some on the downshift coast, but not alot.

i have a thrush glasspack on my 4.0 ranger and it pops like a bitch, and it has a deep tone to, and i have had it for only 2 weeks and has not even really began to break in yet, so the best is yet to come. hope this helps. o and they are at Advance Auto Parts for $20
i've have my two month-old glasspack on my '82 f-150 w/ 300 i6 and 3sp. tranny and it doesn't pop yet. i bought it new for 15$ from a vender at the summer carlisle. the cat is a stock one and is gutted over the years. so can that be the problem? or does it still have to break in? i hit the gas hard almost everyday, so i would think that it should be semi broken in yet.

My bro has dynomax race bullets and they sound aswome. He also has headers as well. It is probably the loudest you can get with out runnig straight pipes or opean headers.
