Hose clamps on efi fuel lines???
hey all, just thought id share that before i took a 800 mile drive to see my family over the holidays i thought id change my oil, and fuel filter.
anyway pulled the fuel pump harness cover off my frame rail to unplug and relieve my fuel pressure, and the thing was literally PACKED with old mud and dirt. no suprise as i could tell the guy that owned my truck before had it in the mud,
so i get to the fuel filter, and i release the easy little clip on the line going into the filter, and then am shocked when i see two little hose clamps over half butchered rubber fuel line going to the engine.
i had a fella on here run an oasis a few months ago on my truck and he said it had a fuel pump replaced, and then a few months later a pump and filter, while under warranty
the filter i pulled off was a motorcraft, and with what i remember from the oasis, im asumming that the FORD DEALER did this! anyway i cut some fresh line and reinstalled them, and didnt have any leaks, but i dont like the idea of hose clamps on high pressure fuel systems
what are your thoughts on this? will the hose clamps hold up to 35+ psi? i know they make those clips and connectors for a reason!

no just take a straight blade screwdriver, and push in the little plastic clip in the opening. just push it straight in and work the line off. when you slide it back on it will click back into place! easiest fuel line clips ive ever seen! which is why im baffled that some dope smokin tech couldnt figure it out and ruined mine, and just threw hose clamps on it. i actually used the new fuel fulter stem and pushed my good clip in, cause i was too lazy to climb back out and get my screwdriver
thanks for the replys, ill roll with what i got then, and just keep an eye on it.

How do i explane this the one side towards the rear has the plastic white clip that pushes off and then you push the line off but the frt line is not like that it have a metal clip on it witch i took off then it seams like the filter is pushed in there but will not come out... I have changed many fuel filters on ford trucks and have never seen any like this.

oh so you got both lines off. yeah the filter sits in that metal bracket. i just pushed real hard straight up, and it popped out of the bracket.
then i took the new one, and slid it in (from front of the truck to rear). the filter has a lip on it that wont let you slide it too far back....
hope this helps
