I'm hoping someone can answer this question for me. Does Ford still do loaner vehicles as part of their warranty program?? For instance if they need to keep a vehicle for extended time to fix a warrented item???
My problem is my truck is throwing a code of PO470 (exhaust pressure sensor malfunction) My local deal can't get to the truck until February due to having only 1 tech. I haven't called the next cloest dealer (45 miles away).
I'm worried about driving the truck......it smokes a lot at idle and under acceleration and the check engine light stays on.
My warrenty is the 3/36000 and my mileage right now is 35,800 and 2 months left. I'll be out of warrenty by the time they can get to it, and I don't like the thoughts of having to park the truck or shell out a hundred dollars.
I'm wondering if I take it to my local dealer if I can't get them to give me a loaner vehicle at no cost until my truck can be fixed? Is this possible??
If you would be lucky enough to get a loaner car, it would be just that, a loaner CAR. Chances are very, very slim to get a truck. Not something I understand. Cant exactly put a crate of anything on the roof of a focus. Well I guess you could, and then return it and let them know "well since this is what you replaced my truck with, I had to use the roof as the bed, sorry about the caved in roof, thats why I bought a new TRUCK"
mine does a loaner if it is going to be more than a day. As far as becoming out of warrenty because of this issue, I would suggest speaking with Ford customer service and see what they can do for you to protect the warrenty and get the job done now.
