I had a pretty good run last summer when I was consistently getting MPGs right around 20 at 70 MPH. My work requires me to make a 200 mile trip every week on the island highway (4 lanes the whole way). With the canopy off the truck did really well holding speed with hardly any effort on the pedal.
Fuel prices being what they were back then I certainly had good reason to try and get the most out of every last drop.
Might be able to do better this year as the engine breaks in some more. It seems to have stopped using oil last month.
I'm maxing at 10 right now since ATS put such a small compressor wheel on the 088 system. They designed it for best efficiency around 7 psi (didn't want their turbo kits to blow up the stock IDIs). What turbo are you using?
My IP is also a little weak so with more fuel I might be able to push the boost higher, but I'm trying to get a compressor upgrade in the mean time. With such tall gearing, the turbo doesn't do much for me when in overdrive. I'm hoping to change that.
Just ripp'n on ya. If I remeber right it was the wheel hop that got you in the end. I certainly can't kick the tires loose on dry pavement even if I wanted to (tall gearing).
