I need some help with the rear driver side door. The door inside handle lever is stuck in open position. I've taken the panel off and set the lever back to normal position but when I reassamble the door and attempt to open the door the lever locks again in the open postion. The door operates properly from the outside, just annoying to passengers. The panel is was not that hard to remove, but the latch / lock assembly looks very difficult. Is this hard to remove and does anyone think this is the problem?
I Have A 1998 Explorer And Just Replaced The Entire Latch Assembly.
Not Too Bad,got The Part From Dealer For $50.00.
Removed The 3 Screws On The Door Panel Then Remove The Latch
Which Made It Easier To Remove Rods Connecting The Lock And
Door Handles. I Think One Of The Springs Was Broken In The
Latch, So I Just Replaced It. Hope This Helps
