Driver door lock problem
I am having a problem with the driver side front door lock on my 98 4-door XLT.
1. If I lock the door with the door open, then shut the door, neither the keychain remote, outside door keyless entry, rear door lock switch nor using the key in the lock cylinder will unlock the driver door
. All other door will unlock with no problem. I can unlock the driver door by using the inside door handle only. This condition is predictable and repeatable.
2. If I get out of the vehicle, close the door, then lock the door with the keychain remote, rear door lock switch, outside door keyless panel or using the the key in the lock cylinder, the driver side door and all other doors will unlock as normally expected.
I have read previous post about door lock/unlock problems being caused by bad wiring, broken lock mechanism spring and bent or disconnected linkable.
My problem only exists when the door is shut with locks in the locked position. I beleive this is a problem with locking mechanism ... right?
Any suggestion to what I should look for when I remove the door panel?
