Block Heater issues

My block heater cord was causing my GFCI outlet to trip too. Here's what I did to fix it:

You might have a short or a ground, an open won't trip breakers or blow fuses, unless they get together then its a short

It was the cord. I replaced it and i am not having the circuit breaker issues like before. just froze my a$$ off outside replacing the darn thing, but it is done. I usually have a lighted plug to plug into the end of the extension cord , but it seems to have burned out. I know i have a lighted cord in the garage somewhere, i will have to dig that out tomorrow. So far so good!
