Started installing my gauges tonight. Got everything done inside the cab and the trans temp all hooked up. Still gotta pull the manifold and drill/tap for EGT and make my boost connection. My questions are this:
What are you guys using to attach your boost line and where?
As for trans temp, what do you guys see for trans temps under just normal driving? I got mine all hooked up and just took a short 2-3 mile drive around the block and it only moved maybe 1/8'' or 1/4'' past the 100* Is this the normal or what??
Mine starts off at 140 for trans I think, and it takes quite a while for it to move, generally I see between 160-180 for the trans, as for the boost, I hooked directly into my intake elbow, drilled and tapped that then just screwed in the fitting that came with my boost gauge.
i just ran the line over the intake to the rear cowl area then zip tied it...
a TQShift takes a lot longer to warm up than you would expect...your factory gauge will show a normal temp well before a good AM gauge will even move..
Yeah I just got done with finishing up the install. Tapped the elbow but couldnt locate any 1/8'' compression fittings locally so just had to put a barb in it for the time being.
Pulled the drivers manifold off and drilled and tapped it and got my EGT probe installed too.
