How can I tell if my truck has the long or short stem thermostat, what's the difference in the lenght of the two?
Thanks!!!!
I have this in my PC
I don’t recall where I read that it was OK to run the short Stant 14252 thermostat but the proper Stant 14269 thermostat has a 1.77 in lenght vs. the short Stant 14252 that is 1.10
I don’t recall where I read that it was OK to run the short Stant
Was 94/95.
If the pump was replaced there is a good chance it will
need the long stat.
If the pump has a casted lower hose inlet (not bolt on)
it should use the short stat. Even saying that, its a 50/50 shot.
I have a casted inlet pump, that has the long stat.
There was a short run of them from IH.
