Interior grab handles?

My wife is a bit short and has a difficult time getting into our '97 Explorer, especially in cold weather wearing a heavy coat. Our old Expedition had convenient grab handles on the upper part of the A pillar. Did any of the Explorers or Mountaineers come with grab handles like these? Or, does anyone have any helpful suggestions.

Gen III ('02-'05) have grab handles on the "A" pillars, but I don't know if they can be retrofitted to your '97. Maybe something from JCW could be made to work.
