Thanks for the advice...yeah, I have read similar things about the dropped axles as well. There are a couple of local shops here in Phoenix that have a good reputation for doing it right. If I go that route, I will likely contact one of them. One is here: Dropped front axles and the other is: ICMenu. Both post here on FTE as well (56 panel and ElPolako)
I am still not sure on the dropped axle yet, but I would like to at the very least get new main springs and then remove every other leaf as you mentioned.
I have the toyota power steering box that I will be using as well.
