I've run stock sized Michelin LTX M/S all season radials on both of my PSD trucks and love them. I had a set on a Suburban 2500 4x4 that I previously owned and yanked a Dodge Stratus out of ditch (actually briefly had the back half of the Stratus in the air) while the Suburban was on sheet ice and it never even spun on the ice. Frankly, I didn't think it had a chance of even moving the car while sitting on ice and we were amazed at the adhesion of the tires.
I drove from Lexington, KY to Cincinnati, OH this past Saturday morning in the snow and there were wrecks all over the place. I never spun a tire and just had to be careful to stay out of the way of all the nuts who couldn't seem to grasp the fact that you can't drive fast on ice covered roads.
While on the Interstate, a pileup started occurring right in front of us. I was able to slow down enough to avoid the wrecks and still had enough control to get around between one of the cars that had wrecked and was stopped in the left lane and the center barrier and clear the accident before we got rear-ended.
I'm running Uniroyal Liberator A/T's in 285/75R16 from WalMart - they need replacing now, but I ran them for about 60,000 miles and they're more worn out from bad ball joints & alignment than actual wear. I'll be putting the same tires back on once I get the ball joints handled.
Do you have any problems with the tire rubbing when you turn? i noticed your running a little wider tire and that is the size i wanted to get as well but stockers are 235/85-16.
I've had two sets of BFG A/T's on my truck. First set was good, and lasted a long time. Second set, something was wrong with them. They didn't even last half as long as the first set, and one tire split along the sidewall.
My dealings with BFG about this matter were less than stellar. I'm not a fan of their "customer service", or rather, lack of.
So I went with the Kumho AT KL78's. After putting these on I've found that they are better in the snow than either one of my sets of BFG's. So far with 20K miles on them, they still look brand new. Road noise is much less with these compared to the BFG's. I've also towed grossing 24K lbs, and the tires have done just fine.
The other great thing is that the Kumhos are much much cheaper than the BFG's. So far I have been very satisfied.
Just another option to look at. I know of several others running Kumho's on their Superduties, and all that I've talked to have also been pleased with how they perform compared to the BFG's.
Iv'e run Cooper STT and liked them well. Lasted a long time and ggod in the mud. I run Goodyear ATS Extreme 315/75/17.They were Hummer H2 factory repl. and I got a smoking deal. $800 installed.
So far about 18k and alot of tread left. Would be real good in snow, work great in sand pastures.

I've been using the NTB house-brand tires since '98 and have had great luck with them. First set was on an F150 and I put 126,000 miles on 'em before I had a side wall go out on one tire. I replaced them with the same tire and put another 80k before I sold it. On my F250 I bought the same tire and put 90K on the first set. They're a lot cheaper than other tires too.
put a set of Yokahama Geolanders... 265/75/R16 (load range D) on another vehicle of mine and I am very impressed. Tread depth at brand new was (dont quote me) 18/32's.
Got the whole set for about $650
+1
Except I've got 285/75/16. Nice tire. $600 for everything.
I really like my 285 Michelin LTX M/S that I got a few months ago. I got them with only 600 miles on them for 410 dollars mounted and Balanced ( bought them Wheel and Tire sold the XLT rims for 325). They are no mud tire but for the price and the durability I couldn't pass them up.
I have ran the Nitto Terra-grapplers which lasted about 47k and was happy with them. Firestone Destination AT's are on now and I dont have any complaints. Both wore good and even and thats with 135k and never had an alignment.
I have terra grapplers also but was wondering what pressures you guys are running because I am having steering issues that maybe related to pressure?
Thats what I had before they were D rated about 50% tread and I had two of them blow a belt. I think the PO overloaded the tires with alot of heavy pulling.
Nitto terra's are stamped with 50 psi cold MAX pressure. That being said, I notice mine look the best at 55 all around.
why would you put more than the recommended pressure in your tires? Also I went to nitto's web site and they state that you should put air in according to your door panel?
